Study of a solar PV–diesel–battery hybrid power system for a remotely located population near Rafha, Saudi Arabia

The hourly solar radiation data measured at the site along with PV modules mounted on fixed foundations, four generators of different rated powers, diesel prices of 0.2–1.2US$/l, different sizes of batteries and converters were used to find an optimal power system for the village.
